What it is
An enormously popular TBS Radio show in which the essayist Jane Su and the former announcer Horii Mika read listener letters and talk, mostly about ordinary middle-aged life. As learning material it is the opposite of the news: casual register, jokes, interruptions, half-finished sentences, and the sort of vocabulary you will actually use with friends. That also makes it one of the hardest things on this list — the humour depends on cultural reference and there are no transcripts, so treat it as a reward for reaching upper-intermediate rather than a study tool.
