What it is

A Portuguese radio institution: every morning Fernando Alves reads a minute of dense, literary reflection on the day. The recording quality and the slow, deliberate delivery are ideal for working on rhythm and vowel reduction, and a minute is short enough to replay ten times. But the vocabulary and syntax are poetic, so do not expect to understand it early — this is an advanced listener’s pleasure, not a comprehension exercise.
