What it actually is

One query searches across more than eighty Romanian dictionaries at once, including the authoritative DEX '09 and the DOOM 3 orthographic norms, plus synonyms, etymology, neologisms and specialist vocabularies — over 1.1 million definitions in total. It is what Romanians themselves use to settle usage arguments. Free, volunteer-maintained and actively updated in 2026, with some data downloadable under the GPL. Monolingual and Romanian-only, so it becomes usable around B1 rather than day one.
