What it actually is
The newspaper Urdu that most Pakistanis actually read, and considerably harder than the international broadcasters: long sentences, dense Persianate vocabulary, and columns that assume you follow Pakistani politics. Worth reaching for once BBC Urdu has stopped being a challenge — the columns in particular are where the literary and the everyday language meet.
