What it actually is

Produced by Rai Cultura with the Italian education and foreign ministries: video lessons built around real-life scenes, plus grammar and vocabulary exercises, organised as a self-paced MOOC across three level bands. It is free, official and genuinely substantial, which makes it the best zero-cost structured course available. The interface is clunky and there is little feedback or community, so it works best as a supplement rather than your only course.
