🇲🇽 The best Mexican Spanish podcasts

Roberto Andrade and Héctor Libreros hold an unscripted conversation and then stop to unpack the Mexican expressions that a learner would have missed — so you get authentic speed without being left behind. It is the standard recommendation for anyone whose target is Mexican rather than peninsular Spanish. The podcast is free; transcripts and extras are on Patreon. Not for beginners: they genuinely do not slow down.

Diego and Efra run two shows in parallel: Cafecito con Mextalki tells Mexican legends and stories slowly for beginners, and Cheleando con Mextalki is the two of them talking at natural speed with all the slang left in. Between them they cover the gap most Spanish material skips — the point where you can follow a lesson but not a conversation. Audio is free; transcripts, the conversation club and the courses are paid.

One of the few consistently good intermediate podcasts in Mexican Spanish, hosted by a couple who talk about food, slang, travel and culture without dumbing the pace down much. The weekly episodes are free; Patreon members get reviewed transcripts, vocabulary guides and bonus advanced episodes. Two to three hours per episode, in which the hosts research a case and then argue about it — the appeal for a learner is that the same case vocabulary recycles for the whole episode, so comprehension climbs as you go. Lety Sahagún and Ashley Frangie interview psychologists, writers and public figures about questions rather than news, and the tone is unhurried and deliberately reflective. That makes it one of the easier long-form Latin American podcasts to follow: two clear Mexico City voices, no crosstalk, and abstract vocabulary that repeats across episodes. Free with a very large archive. Self-help territory, so how much you get out of it depends on your tolerance for that.
