What it actually is

A free root-based interface to page scans of the major Arabic dictionaries — Hans Wehr, Lane's Lexicon, Steingass and more — which is how serious readers of classical and literary Arabic look words up. Indispensable if you are reading Qur'anic, poetic or pre-modern prose. It assumes you can derive the root yourself and read dictionary conventions, so it is useless as a beginner tool, and the scanned-page interface feels ancient.
