What it actually is

The free Bengali typing tool nearly everyone in Bangladesh uses, with a phonetic mode that maps romanised input to Bengali script as you type. This matters more than it sounds: until you can type Bengali you cannot look words up, message anyone, or make flashcards, and the fixed keyboard layouts take weeks to learn. Windows desktop app; on phones the equivalent is the Gboard Bengali phonetic layout.
