What it actually is

The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh's encyclopedia, published in parallel Bengali and English editions. The parallel structure is the useful part — read an entry in Bengali, check yourself against the English one. It is reference material about Bengal specifically, so it is where you learn the cultural and historical vocabulary that news articles assume you already have.
