What it actually is

Paste a YouTube link or open a video or audio file from your computer and it plays with the original subtitles and a translation under each line; step line by line, loop a sentence or an A–B stretch, slow it to 0.5×, and click a word to look it up and save it with its sentence. Unlike Language Reactor it is a website rather than a browser extension, and it works on local files and public podcast feeds as well as YouTube. The free tier needs no account (videos stay on your device) and covers YouTube's own captions, imported SRT/VTT files and Google translation; AI subtitles for videos and podcasts that have none, and context-aware AI translation, are paid by credits ($1 to try, Pro $5 a month). It is new and a small independent project, suggested to us by its maker, so independent reviews are thin. Tested 2026-10-20: a Norwegian YouTube interview loaded with its captions and an English line under each, free and signed out.
