Mauril (CBC/Radio-Canada)
Canada's public broadcaster turned its own shows into free listening lessons.
Canada only — CBC/Radio-Canada's own FAQ: "It is not available to users outside of Canada." The rights to the Canadian clips it teaches from are Canada-only, and the mobile apps are published on the Canadian storefronts alone.
What it actually is
Mauril is CBC/Radio-Canada's free learning app: real clips from Canadian television and radio, with comprehension exercises, transcripts and vocabulary built around them, graded from beginner up. Because the source material is Canadian broadcast, the French is Quebec French rather than Parisian — which is exactly why it is here and not simply in the general French list. Free, no subscription, and it covers English the same way. The catch is that it is Canada-only: the broadcaster licenses this content for Canada, so the apps are not listed outside Canadian app stores and the web version will not play the clips abroad.

How it teaches
- Comprehensible Input — Acquire a language by understanding lots of messages slightly above your level, rather than by studying rules.
