What it actually is

Chi Nguyễn is an education researcher in the US who has been writing and broadcasting in Vietnamese since 2016; the channel is at 740,000 subscribers and still posting. Because none of it is aimed at learners, the vocabulary is adult and abstract in a way graded material never is, while the delivery is slow and deliberate enough to follow — which is a rarer combination than it sounds at the point where learner podcasts run out. She was born and grew up in Hanoi, so this is northern speech. Free on YouTube and in podcast apps; the books and planners are what is sold.
