RFM
Portugal's second-biggest station. The songs are in English; the talk is not.
Talk & music
What you'll hear
Current pop, almost all of it in English, with Portuguese presenters over the top. Live shows run from breakfast to late evening, so someone is talking between nearly every pair of records.
Is it any good for learning Portuguese?
The songs teach you nothing. The breakfast show does: three hours of four people talking over each other, unscripted, full of the fillers a textbook leaves out. Expect to follow much less of it than Antena 1.
When to listen
Weekdays 07:00–10:00. After that the ratio of English pop to Portuguese speech climbs steeply.
- Café da Manhã Weekdays 07:00–10:00
