What it actually is

The BBC's Brazilian service publishes tightly edited video explainers, usually five to ten minutes, in careful broadcast Portuguese. Newsreader delivery is clearer and more structured than conversation, which makes news a reasonable first step into native material, and the subject matter is often already familiar from English coverage. Free, several videos a week, very large archive.
