What it actually is
ZEIT's marathon interview podcast: one guest, no time limit, ending only when they choose to stop, which regularly means four to eight hours of unedited German conversation. For an advanced learner it is an enormous, free supply of natural speech from a single voice — you acclimatise to the person over hours, which is a very different exercise from a tight news show. It is also completely unadapted: interruptions, mumbling, in-jokes and cultural references throughout, and no transcript.
